One of the highlights of our visit with Lori and Greg was taking them to the Hidalgo Festival of Lights in the city of Hidalgo, a short drive from our park. We had heard from so many people how great the show is every year, but it was even more spectacular than we had imagined. The show runs for the whole month of December and is free to the public. This years theme was “A Victorian Christmas”, but to us each section had a different theme. The light show took in over ten city streets and consisted of over 500 light displays and three million lights, all constructed and put up by the City of Hidalgo employees.
We boarded a trolley at City Hall for the narrated tour.
This was the first place winner for decorated residential homes.
These are just a sample of the beautiful light displays. We will definitely return to this festival next year.
